What is the Fizzics Draftpour?

Is it really possible to make a can or bottle of your favourite tipple taste like the tap-pulled version? Well, the Fizzics DraftPour Home Beer Tap seeks to do exactly that!

Launched back in 2019 the Draftpour is the updated UK market version of the original Fizzics Waytap. The whole philosophy behind the Draftpour is that it is designed to enhance your drinking experience. The flavour, aroma and overall taste of your favourite canned or bottled beer will be improved.

How does it improve the beer?

Branded as ‘nitro-style draught beer’ it leverages ultrasonic waves and fluid dynamics which then converts your beer’s natural fizz into compactly arranged bubbles.

This ‘micro-foam’ technology is the reason for improving the density and richness of your favourite can or bottle. It almost certainly delivers a much fuller and creamier drink than just pouring into a glass from a bottle.

What’s great about it?

The main selling point over other machines on the market is the lack of restrictions. You can have whatever you like.

The Fizzics DraftPour gives you complete flexibility as you can simply select your most loved can or bottle to pour from.

With the likes of other machines on the market, there will be an element of drink restriction as you are reliant on the keg brand available for the machines.

The other great thing about it is the cost of the beer. Generally, the average cost per pint from the keg-type machines comes in around the £2 per pint mark.

As you are simply converting a can or bottle, the price is all dependent on what you can secure your favourite tipple for either online or in the supermarket.

What’s better about it than the original version?

Power Flexibility

The original Waytap was powered by 2 x AA batteries. However, the new Draftpour version can be either powered by battery or USB cable.

This makes the new machine even more flexible. You can plug it in from the mains when using from home but also you can switch to batteries if you fancy using it on the go.

Bottle & Can Sizes

The size of the older Waytap meant that cans or bottles of up to 500ml could be accommodated in the machine. However, with the new DraftPour, any larger cans or bottles up to 750ml can now now easily be squeezed in. Perfect for those 660ml supermarket bottles offers!

How does it work?

The DraftPour is probably one of the easiest machines on the market to use.

Simply pop in the batteries or connect to power, turn the body anti-clockwise, insert your chosen bottle or can and pull to your heart’s content!

It also has a nice feature where you can push the tap away from you to deliver a nice foamy head if that’s how you like it.

    Price & Availability

At the time of writing, the Draftpour is available in the UK from Amazon and Menkind. Prices start from about £114 so it gets a ‘££’ rating from us.

Looking at pricing, Menkind appears to be the best place to go for the most competitive price.

    The Verdict

The Fizzics DraftPour is a great choice for casual beer drinkers who are looking for an easy solution to improve the drinking experience of any of their favourite cans or bottles. It’s easy to use, portable and delivers great improvements in your drinking experience.

However, if you are a bit more serious about having the option of free-flowing draft at home and you have some worktop space, you could opt for The Sub.

It’s around the same price point for a Compact version and you would get 4 draft pints per keg in each sitting as long as you accept you might be restricted on choice.
